While out for a power walk Jardin des Plantes on the Left Bank, my husband, Erik, brought back some tiny spring flowers blooming on this relatively warm day in January. Each had an individual strong scent.
The merle was out this evening singing beautifully. Its tones, ranges and words are so varied. It is as if the bird is putting codes into the atmosphere for future reference. The code could be either its identity or an attempt to identify its spot on the chimney spout. The sky was blue without a cloud today.
